The Committee on Metropolitan Affairs, and Harbors and Public Lands, in the Massachusetts legislature, have appointed a sub-committee to draw up a bill on the proposed Charles River dam, which, it is expected, will carry an appropriation of about $3,000,000. This sub-committee consists of Senator Porter, chairman, house chairman Rounds, and Senator Seaver, from the Committee on Metropolitan Affairs; and of Senator Gaylord, chairman, house chairman Sherman, and Senator Foster, from the Committee of Harbors and Public Lands.
