The American ambassador to Italy, G. von L. Meyer '79, has sent as gifts to the University library several volumes and pamphlets relating to the political conditions and history of Italy from 1815 to 1870. These books have been selected and bought by Mr. Harry Nelson Gay g'96, an authority in this field of history. To the pamphlets presented by Mr. Meyer, Mr. Gay has added a large number from his own extensive collection.
