The Sargent prize of one hundred dollars is offered as usual this year for the best metrical translation of a lyric poem of Horace. The poem selected this year by the Department of Classics is the thirty-fifth Ode of the first. Book, Undergraduates of Harvard College and of Radcliffe may compete.

The prize will be withheld if no competitor proves to deserve it. Translations submitted must be delivered at the office of the secretary, University 5, not later than May 1.
