New York, Feb. 24.--The Yale hockey team defeated Columbia at the St. Nicholas Rink, New York, this evening by the score of 3 goals to 2, in the game to decide the tie caused by the withdrawal of Princeton. The game was one of the best contested of the season. The Harvard team will now meet Yale in the final series of three games for the intercollegiate championship, Friday, Saturday and Monday.
The teams last night lined up as follows: Score--Yale, 3; Columbia, 2. Goals--Oliver 2. Ostby, Akin W. Duden. Referee--H. Hornfeck, N. Y. A. C. Time--20-minute halves.
