Improvement in Basketball.

The practice of the University basketball team last night showed considerable improvement over the work of the first part of the week. On account of the University Assembly in the Gymnasium this evening, this was the last practice before the game with Cornell tomorrow night. The men played hard and fast, combining good teamwork with long passes as the occasion demanded. There was, however, a tendency to fumble in the early part of the play and the men are still weak on throwing goals, especially from a distance. In the line-up the team succeeded in scoring twenty-nine points to the fifteen of the second team, despite good covering by the members of the second team.
