The University chess team was defeated last night in its second match with the Boston Chess Club by a score of 6 1-2 games to 3 1-2. A series of matches has been arranged in order to supply practice for the team of ten players which will compete against Yale in Cambridge the night before the Yale football game. The four players, who will compete during the Christmas vacation in the intercollegiate tournament with the Columbia, Yale and Princeton teams will be chosen as soon as possible on the basis of the work in the fall chess tournament and in the series of weekly matches with the Boston Chess Club.
