Dramatic Romance by Prof. Shaler.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A dramatic romance in five parts, entitled "Elizabeth of England," by N. S. Shaler '62, has been placed in the Gore Hall library. Aside from the Harvard Phi Beta Kappa poem for 1902, this is Professor Shaler's only poetical work which has been published.

The poem was written to disprove the popular theory that protracted scientific study renders the mind unfit for purely literary work. It is in effect five brief plays in which are reflected the large mind and daring spirit of the days of Hawkins, Raleigh, and Drake.

The work is published in five volumes by Houghton, Mifflin & Company. Price $10. It will be placed on sale Saturday.
