Yesterday was the last day of morning and afternoon football practice, and hereafter the men will meet but once a day. The present grading into four separate squads will be maintained with slight changes until the reduction which will occur in a few days, and after that the careful sifting of most of the promising men will commence. So far, Coach Farley has been assisted by B. G Waters '94, W. H. Lewis '95, J. Dunlop '96, R. Brown '98, D. S. Dean '91, F L Burnett '01, J Lawrence '01 J. Upton '93, J. S. Lawrence '01 and these men, together with other graduates who will arrive later, will do most of the coaching.

Several new men joined the squad yesterday. Force, a substitute guard last year, Mills, tackle on last year's Freshman team, Marshall a former Dartmouth player, and Carrick, a Freshman. They are all of good weight and are candidates for line positions.

The practice yesterday afternoon was devoted largely to punting, in which Hodges, Kernan, Daly and Goodhue showed to advantage. Later the line-men were divided into separate groups and under the direction of Waters and Lewis were coached in charging and breaking through. Coach Farley gave special attention to the backs and ends. A line-up between squads "A" and "C" concluded the practice. Two five minute halves were played but neither team did very consistent work and there was no scoring. Leatherbee, Bunting and Marshall made some good runs, but otherwise the playing was not exceptional.

The line-ups were as follows: SQUAD "A."  SQUAD "C." Burgess, McDonald, l.e.  r.e., Huguley. O'Connell, Oveson, l.t.  r.t., Pettingill. Hovey, Fry, l.g.  r.g., Lenox. King, Wilder, c.  c., Bleakie. Bunting. Tenney, Foster, r.h.b.  l.h.b., McGlensey, Trott. Piper, Harrison, Meier, f.b.  f.b., Hodges.
