HAVERFORD, PA., Oct. 8. -- Today's matches in the intercollegiate tennis tournament were prevented by rain, but play will be continued tomorrow. In the semi-final round of the singles Mahan, the Columbia champion, will play Thurbur, Columbia, and Clapp, the Yale champion, will play Dewhurst, who last won the New South Wales championship, but who is now at the Pennsylvania Medical School. Mahan outclasses all the other players in form and experience, and will probably win the championship.
