Under the auspices of the Law School, Sir Frederick Pollock, of London, will give four lectures on the general topic: "The Expansion of the Common Law," in the New Lecture Hall at 3 o'clock on the following dates:

Oct. 20.--The Foundation of Justice.

Sir Frederick Pollock is one of the most distinguished jurists and legal authors of England. He has just resigned his professorship of Jurisprudence at Oxford, after an incumbency of twenty years. The best known of his writings are his treatises on Contracts and Torts, and his "History of English Law," the latter written jointly with Professor Maitland. Professor Pollock is also the editor-in-chief of the English Law Reports.

The lectures will be open to the public, but seats on the floor will be reserved for students in the Law School.
