As the result of the matches played yesterday in the fall tennis tournament, R. Bishop 3L. and G. A. Lyon, Jr., 3L. will play R. B. Dresser 1L. and P. L. Miller 1L. this afternoon on Jarvis Field at 2.30 o'clock for the University tennis championship in doubles.
The remaining matches in the third round and the two in the semi-finals yesterday resulted as follows:
Third round--Deming and Wadsworth defeated Taft and Bramwell, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3; Dresser and Miller defeated Greenough and Brannan, 6-4, 7-5; Larned and Prentice defeated Cole and Perine, 6-1, 6-4.
Semi-finals--Bishop and Lyon defeated Deming and Wadsworth, 6-2, 6-2; Dresser and Miller defeated Larned and Prentice, 6-1, 7-5. Bishop and Lyon clearly out-played Deming and Wadsworth. Dresser and Miller won from Larned and Prentice because of superiority in lobbing and passing.
On Monday, the interclass team matches in singles will be played on Jarvis Field. The Freshmen will play against the Sophomores and the Juniors against the Seniors. Each team will be composed of six men chosen by its class captain. The final matches for the interclass championship will be played on Tuesday.
