The Freshman football team will play its first game of the season this afternoon with Exeter, at Exeter. The Exeter team is fairly strong this year and will have considerable advantage in weight, especially in the line. The Freshmen have been improving steadily since the beginning of practice, however, and are hard consistent workers so that a fairly close game may be expected.
The squad as a whole still shows faults which are usually to be expected early in the season. They fail to play low, are slow in following the ball and do not help one another through the line enough. On the other hand, there are several individual players of promise, and all of the men show a good spirit which is encouraging.
Twenty-four of the squad will be taken this afternoon, and probably every man will get a chance to play. The team will line up as follows:
Crocker r.e., Brock r.t., Derby r.g., Kidder c., Chase l.g., Sard l.t., Williard l.e., Elkins q.b., Robeson f.b., Bunting r.h.b., Harrison l.h.b.
