A. C. White '02, a graduate member of the Deutscher Verein, has recently offered to engage an instructor to conduct a course in German conversation during the winter, open only to members of the Verein. The course will probably be in charge of Mr. Paul Grossman, and the work will consist in meeting the instructor several times a week and discussing various topics of the day. There will be very little outside work, the purpose of the course being to afford an opportunity to practice and to acquire facility in idiomatic conversational German.
This is the first time that a course of this kind has ever been attempted at the University, and if the experiment proves a success, it is probable that in the future, the Verein will undertake a number of such courses, and be able to accommodate a greater number of students than at present seems advisable.
