Northwestern University at Evanston, Ill., will tomorrow evening confer the degree of LL.D. upon Professor James Barr Ames '69, Dean of the Harvard Law School. The honor is given in acknowledgement of Dean Ames' services as a student of law, both in his work as an author and in the introduction of the case system of instruction as used in the Harvard Law School. Professor Ames left Cambridge yesterday to attend the observation of Founders Day at Northwestern University during which the distinction is to be conferred. President Hadley of Yale University is to deliver the principal address of the occasion.
