RED TOP, June 11.--The men, with the exception of Bancroft, who is slightly indisposed this afternoon, are well and in good condition. In the morning the four-oar took a short row and the University crew paddled down-stream to the Navy Yard. In the afternoon, in spite of the rain, both crews went out. Francis took Bancroft's place at 7, Smith moving into 3, and Covel to bow in the four-oar. After a short row upstream the eight rowed over the first two miles of the course at a stroke varying from 28 to 32. They were unsteady and very rough. Dr. Hutchinson assisted in the coaching.
