The lacrosse team defeated Columbia yesterday afternoon at New York in an exciting game by the score of 9 to 3. Columbia was found to be stronger on the attack than was expected and by clever passing and fast work was able to score three goals in the first half. Harvard, however finished the first half with a lead of two goals. In the second half by aggressiveness on the part of the attack, Harvard was able to score four more goals and held the ball throughout near Columbia's home. The work of Penhallow and Binger on the attack was especially effective. Stevenson played the most brilliant game on the defense. This victory breaks the tie with Pennsylvania, and gives Harvard second place in the league standing.
