8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
The University crews took a short row yesterday in the same orders in which they started the day before, with Foster at stroke in the first boat and Brownell at stroke in the second. Ayer has not yet returned to work. The crews took a number of short stretches, in nearly all of which the second crew gained materially on the first, although rowing about the same stroke.
There seems to be no particular cause to which this poor showing on the part of the first crew can be attributed, but the crew has certainly taken a slump in the last few days. The rowing is logy and the boat seems dead.
The second crew was sent back to the boat house ahead of the first, and for a while Mr. Higginson gave his entire attention to the first.
