"Harvard University Songs" is the title of a new book, compiled by E. F. Du Bois '03, which will appear on sale in the first week in June. The volume includes altogether twenty-six selections, among them being recent football songs, the most popular glee-club songs, and many favorite songs of various kinds. Some of them are: "General Grant," "Our Director," "Hannah," "Stein Song," "Winter Song," "Marseillaise," "Up the Street," "Kaua," and the Yale song, "Bright College Years."
The selections in each case are illustrated by decorative headings, drawn by S. A. Welldon '04 and C. M. Bill '00. The latter also designed the cover, which represents the Johnston Gate, with Harvard and Massachusetts Halls on either side. Mr. W. R. Spalding '87 has had charge of the arrangement of the music.
The book throughout in the choice of paper, type, binding, and general finish, is more carefully prepared than any of the earlier Harvard song books. It is published by the Oliver Ditson Company and printed at the University Press. The price is 81.50.
