The Freshman nine was defeated by the Brown freshmen in a ten-inning game yesterday afternoon by the score of 14 to 10. The fielding of the home team was wretched and many costly errors were made, which allowed Brown to score several times. With the exception of Bolton, who made three of the six hits, the batting of the Harvard team was very weak and the side was repeatedly retired with men on bases. Unless the Freshmen make a decided improvement in-every department of the game there is very little chance of them defeating Yale on Saturday.
