The plans for the new Cambridge Hotel have been considerably altered. The site on Massachusetts avenue directly opposite Beck Hall, on the ground where the College In now stands, has been given up, and it has been decided to build on the Wessellioeft grounds on Harvard street, not far from the Union. The building will be four or five stories high and will contain about one hundred rooms. The cost will be $250,000, about half the cost of the hotel as originally planned. The building will have all modern improvements except that it will not be absolutely fireproof.
It is also proposed to erect on the Massachusetts avenue site an apartment house with a cafe, for the convenience of parents of students while visiting the College.
