The Freshman nine defeated Groton last Saturday by the score of 6 to 2. The Groton team was weak, particularly at the bat. The base running of the Freshmen was very poor, and the fact that they did not make a larger score was largely due to their inefficiency in this respect and to their inability to bunch their hits.
Tuckerman pitched a good game, striking out eight men. Leary, a new man, showed up well at the bat with two good hits to his credit.
