Between Hitchcock and McFarland.--Egans Defeated in Second Round.

GARDEN CITY, L. I., May 9.--As a result of today's play for the intercollegiate individual championship Hitchcock of Yale and McFarland of Pennsylvania have qualified for the final round, which will be played tomorrow.

Both the Egans were defeated in the second round. The results were as follows: Wilson (P) beat W. E. Egan (H) 3 up and 2 to play; Poole (P) beat Slosson (C), 3 up and 2 to play; Hitchcock (Y) beat Reinhart (P), 3 up and 2 to play; McFarland (Pa) beat H. C. Egan (H), 3 up and 2 to play.

The semi-finals were played this afternoon, Hitchcock (Y) beat Wilson (P), 3 up and 2 to play; and McFarland (Pa) beat Poole (P), 1 up. The final match will be 36 holes.
