The extension to the brick building containing the photographic negatives at the Observatory, will be built on the cast of the present building in the form of an ell about thirty-three feet long by twenty-seven wide. This addition, which will more than double the present capacity for storing negatives and valuable books, will contain seven fire-proof rooms, and a water-tight basement. When final plans are made, work will be begun, and it is expected that the addition will be finished by the first of next October.
