Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
The first performance of the Hasty Pudding Club play, Hi-Kaya, will be the graduates' night on April 25. The public performances will be given at the Hasty Pudding Club theatre on April 26 and at Copley Hall, Boston, on May 1, 2 and 3.
The scene of the first and third acts of the play is laid in the polar regions and gives an opportunity for effective stage settings, including icebergs, snow huts, reindeer, the aurora borealis and the midnight sun. The scene of the second act is laid at the Sheepshead Bay race track, a parody on Sheepshead Bay, N. Y.
Paul Revere Hall, a man about town, Professor Lasher, a geologist, and Obediah Ham, a grind, go to the polar regions together to see Hi-Kaya, the chief of the northern tribe, and prevail upon him to return with them to America. In the second act they are seen at Sheepshead Bay race track. In the third act they become involved in international complications in the polar regions. English, German, French and Austrian warships with their officers are trying to get possession of the country, but finally relinquish their claims to the United States. The sentimental part of the play is acted by Paul Revere Hall and Aurora, the daughter of Hi-Kaya.
A burlesque of some society play will probably be introduced in the second or third act.
A great deal of attention has been given to the music, and as a result it will be novel and tuneful and should add greatly to the effectiveness of the play.
