Professor Pickering Accepts Appointment.

Professor E. C. Pickering of the Observatory has accepted his appointment to the Carnegie Institute at Washington. He will retain his position at the Observatory as his duties in connection with the Carnegie Institute will not necessitate his living in Washington. He is to serve on the advisory committee which will make occasional reports to the Institute.
