A Geological Excursion.

Professor Davis and Professor Jackson intend to conduct during the April recess a geological excursion, with such students as desire to accompany them, to the districts about Syracuse, New York. The series of fossiliferous strata are well shown there, as well as certain remarkable examples of gorges, which were cut by temporary rivers along the retreating margin of the ice sheet during the closing stages of the glacial period.
