President Eliot has found it inadvisable to remain away from Cambridge for so long a time as was at first contemplated in the arrangements for his western trip. Accordingly he will leave for the east immediately after his engagements at St. Louis and will remain here until about the middle of March, allowing time enough to meet his engagements at San Francisco on March 17. From that point everything will be carried out as originally planned, so that the only change in the new itinerary is the omission from it of the north-west states as well as Columbus, Missouri and Kansas City and Lincoln, Nebraska.
