Fifty-nine candidates reported at the first practice for the hockey team yesterday afternoon. The men were divided into two squads and were given practice in shooting and lifting. The material is fairly good and showed a general proficiency in the rudiments of the game. With five of last year's players back and with the abundance of material to draw from the prospects for a successful season are good.

The rink on Holmes Field has been laid out and will be ready to flood as soon as the weather is cold enough.
