Mrs. Charles W. Rhodes gave a lecture on "Wagner and the Bayreuth Festival," for the benefit of the Radcliffe College Scholarship fund, under the auspices of the Cantabrigia Club last night in Sanders Theatre. She presented a review of the work of the great composer, interpreting the meaning, music and scenes from the operas, and emphasized especially the metaphysical purpose which dominates the Wagner plays. Mr. Adolph Glose gave illustrations on the piano from the themes and motifs of the operas, and the stereopticon was used to illustrate the principal characters and scenes.
