Preliminary work for the cross country squad ended Friday, and from now on the men will be put through a more rigorous system of training. The new course on Soldiers Field which has been laid out as nearly as possible on the plan of the intercollegiate cross country course in New York, will be used hereafter in order to accustom the men to the water jumps and other obstacles. The runs will be lengthened from day to day so as to insure a gradual development in the condition of the men.
