The track work on Soldiers Field is progressing gradually in preparation for the fall games which will take place about the end of this month. The number of candidates is increasing daily and the material as compared with that of last year at this time is encouraging. The wet weather has retarded the work somewhat and made the track heavy. Yesterday, however, the track was in fairly good condition. The men did the usual amount of work in running and jumping.
