Freshman Football Yesterday

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Up to this time, the coaches have been endeavoring to give the Freshman football squad practice merely in the rudiments of the game, but individual coaching of the finer points has now begun. Although the men still have many bad faults, the play as a whole shows some development.

In the line-up yesterday afternoon, the first team proved flrightfully weak on the defense, especially on the ends, where the second gained at will. Their interference, however, was decidedly better than heretofore, and several times good end runs were made. The first team scored three times, twice on flukes and once by steady gains on end and tackle plays. The second, however, played faster football, and although out-weighed, put up a good defense.
