During the summer a three story annex has been added to the photographic library at the astronomical observatory. It is practically completed and will be in use within a few weeks. The building was enlarged to provide for the recent additions to the large collection of photographic plates.

Two comets were discovered during the months of July and August. Successful observations were made, but no satisfactory photographs were obtained as both bodies were very faint.

At present, arrangements are being made for photographing and recording the total eclipse of the moon, which will occur shortly before midnight on the sixteenth of this month.
