A fire broke out in the store of I. C. Snow, corner of Plympton street and Massachusetts avenue, at 12.30 this morning. Owing to the prompt work of the fire department, the fire was quickly extinguished. The damage was confined to the rear of Snow's store.

James Irving, one of the firemen, was cut about the ankle by falling glass from a broken window, and carried to the house of Doctor Whoriskey, Quincy square. Doctor Whoriskey stated that the man's injuries were not serious.
