Summer Work at the Observatory.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The regular routine of work has been carried on at the Harvard Observatory during the summer, and little of particular interest has occurred. The principal event has been the photographing of the spectrum of chain lightning by means of a spectroscope and large telescope attached to a camera. Several of these photographs turned out very well, and are probably the first successful ones of the kind ever taken.

The rest of the work has consisted of photographing the different parts of the heavens, and recording the brightness of various stars by means of photometers.
