Harvard defeated Williams on Saturday by a score of 16 to 0 in a loosely played game. Of Harvard's touchdowns one was secured on a blocked kick, Lawrence running 45 yards with the ball; another through line-bucking and a 30 yard run by Knowles; and the other by securing the ball on Williams' fumble on her 5 yard line. At no time was Harvard's goal line threatened, nor could Williams gain substantially, except for a 15 yard run around left end on a double pass. Harvard, however, was unable to score more than three touchdowns, although in the second half ten new men were put in. Williams appeared to have considerable team play, but it availed little against the individual playing of the Harvard men, and Williams could not manage to gain successfully through the line nor around the ends. Two of Williams' punts were blocked for great loss, one for a touchdown, chiefly by the good individual work of the Harvard line. Harvard had little team work, but the individual playing of some of the men was encouraging. There was little regularly formed interference, and to this was perhaps due Harvard's inability to gain more around the ends. Harvard's line was able to make openings almost at will, but the backs were slow in taking advantage, and many times an opening would be made, but the play would not start until too late. In kicking, Harvard was successful, the line holding well, and the ends, especially Bowditch, getting down swiftly under the ball.

Lawrence, Barnard and Rainsford played well in the line, and did not have much trouble with their opponents. Bowditch succeeded in boxing the ends well, and stopping the plays directed around his end. Burgess was drawn in on a double pass, but except for that played an effective game. Baldwin was not entirely sure, and did not tackle very well. Campbell was about the only man back of the line who took full advantage of all the openings, and on the defensive he supported the line well. Devens, at fullback, gained considerable ground through the line, and Derby and Knowles at times made good gains.

Williams kicked off to Baldwin, who ran back 15 yards. After short gains through the line Devens punted. Bowditch got down well under the kick and prevented any return. Williams gained 3 yards through right tackle and on the third down went around left end for 12 yards on a double pass. On the next play Campbell tackled for a loss of 4 yards, and Williams was forced to punt. Campbell blocked the ball, and Lawrence, picking it up, ran 45 yards for a touchdown. Campbell missed an easy goal.

Baldwin ran the kick-off back 18 yards. Devens and Campbell both gained, and on the next down Knowles ran around left end for 30 yards. Line plays carried the ball to the 5-yard line, and Campbell went over for a touchdown, but failed to kick the goal. No more scoring was done during this half.

In the second half Harvard kicked off, but the ends prevented Williams from advancing the ball. Williams punted, and Baldwin ran back ten yards. Harvard then lost the ball on a fumble, but regained it on downs. Campbell and Piper both gained, but Williams got the ball on a fumble, and also 10 yards on offside play. Williams tried a kick, but it was blocked, Rainsford getting the ball. Harvard advanced to the 5 yard line but lost the ball on a fumble. Williams immediately fumbled, and after a center play Derby scored a touchdown. Rainsford kicked the goal.

No further scoring was done, the game ending with the ball in Williams' possession in the middle of the field.
