The Harvard Union will be open for inspection today from 9 to 5. The Freshman billiard room on the second floor will be ready for use this morning, and the other billiard room later in the week Both rooms will be in charge of Leavitt and Peirce. The dinning room will not be ready until the early part of next week, but the living room is all furnished and ready for use.

Circulars explaining the purpose of the Union and the method of joining have been printed, and will be distributed today and tomorrow. Copies may be obtained by Freshmen from their Advisers, and by other students in any of the registration rooms or from the Advisers of the Lawrence Scientific School.

Today, from 9 to 1 and from 2 to 5, applications for membership will be received at the Union by a committee.

All members of the University, especially new men in both graduate and undergraduate departments, are invited to join the Union. No nominations are necessary. Any one wishing to become a member of the Union can do so by filling out an application blank stating the kind of membership he desires.

The membership is of five kinds:

(a) Active membership for the year 1901-1902, dues $5.00, plus an assessment not exceeding $5.00.

(b) Associate membership for one year, for persons residing within twenty-five miles of Cambridge, dues $5.00.

(c) Non-resident membership for one year, for persons residing more than twenty-five miles from Cambridge, dues $3.00.

(d) Life membership for Graduates, $50.00.

(e) Life membership for Students, $75.00.

Only Active and Life members have the privilege of voting upon club matters.
