Thursday, the day of mourning for the late President McKinley, was observed in the College by the stopping of all work and the postponement of the admission examinations set for that day. University Hall was draped in mourning, and a memorial service was held in Appleton Chapel under the Rev. Dr. Crothers of the First Unitarian Church. No further official action could be taken, as the University was not in session.
