The Freshman nine defeated Hopkinson School yesterday, in a six inning game, by the score of 19 to 6. The large score was due mainly to the wretched fielding of the Hopkinson team. Although the Freshmen had little trouble in winning, their lack of team work yesterday would have been very disastrous in a close game. The team showed considerable improvement in batting and throwing, and Hutchinson pitched a fairly good game, keeping the hits well scattered. Bennett and Hutchinson led at the bat with three clean hits apiece.
The score by innings: Batteries--Hutchinson and Hamlen; Maguire and Davis.
