BROWN GAME TODAY.

Hard Game Expected.--Clark Will Not Play.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Harvard and Brown will play the first game of the series on Soldiers Field at 4 o'clock this afternoon. Clark injured his ankle in running the bases on Saturday and is out of the game for at least a week. His place will be filled today by Coolidge, and George will play shortstop. This change may disconcert the infield somewhat.

Last year Brown won the series from Harvard with two close victories, principally through Washburn's effectiveness against Harvard's batters. As Washburn will probably pitch today, the game should be a very hard one. Brown's record this season is not as good as usual. She has lost to Yale, 9 to 3, 15 to 5, and 2 to 0; to Princeton 5 to 2 and 4 to 3; and to Pennsylvania 4 to 3.

The batting orders: Harvard.  Brown. Murphy, 2b.  s.s., Barry. Wendell, l.f.  2b., Gray. Reid, c.  c.f., Clark. Frantz, 1b.  c., Whittemore. Stillman or Clarkson, p.  l.f., Kimball. Devens, r.f.  r.f., Wheeler. Coolidge, 3b.  1b., Paine. George, s.s.  3b., Pauley. Putnam, c.f.  p., Lynch, Washburn.
