Lacrosse Team Defeated.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University lacrosse team was defeated yesterday by a picked team of graduates by the score of 5 goals to 4. Twenty and fifteen minute halves were played. Neither Goddard nor Wiggin could play, so the University team had to do without a goalkeeper and consequently was seriously weakened on the defense. Toward the end of the first half Sever was injured and Stevenson was taken from the graduate team to fill his place.

The undergraduates' defense was poor through inability to cover their opponents, but they improved in this respect toward the end of the game. The passing was rather accurate and the stick work fair, but a lack of team play was shown. Smith, Mitchell, Beane and Alvord played the best game for the University team; Breed and Taylor for the graduates.
