Second Team, 9; U. of V., 6.

The Second Nine defeated the University of Vermont on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon by a score of 9 to 6. The game was really much more one-sided than the score shows, as Vermont was unable to do anything except in the third inning, when two hits, two errors, and stupid fielding by the second team let in six runs. Winsor was very effective, allowing only four short hits during the whole game. The Second Nine fielded fairly well and hit well when hits were needed. Stewart in centre covered a great deal of territory, accepting four difficult chances, and also making two clean hits. The Vermont team played well, but the pitcher was out of form and could not keep the hits scattered.
