The Pierian Sodality will give its annual spring concert this evening in Sanders Theatre at 8 o'clock. The baseball and track teams and the crew have been invited. A number of tickets with reserved seats are still on sale at Sever's, at twenty-five cents each. At 8 o'clock tonight, the doors will be opened and any undergraduates will be admitted without tickets.
The following Programme has been arranged: The past year has been one of the most successful in the history of the Pierian Sodality. The Sodality has been put on a sound financial basis and has at present much excellent new material. The soloists for the past year have been members of the University, instead of professionals, as previously. The musical library has been carefully gone over, much old music has been thrown aside, a great deal of new music added, and the whole accurately catalogued. Three new violas have been purchased. During the year, the Sodality has given two concerts in Sanders Theatre and nine outside concerts, besides furnishing special music for the German play. The concerts at Sanders Theatre have been well attended by the students, and it is this support which has contributed much to the success of the Sodality. Professional coaches have been engaged for the first time throughout the year. Claud Fisher coached the men in the early part of the year until Gustav Strube, of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, was engaged. Under his direction over thirty new pieces have been played during the season. The vocal soloists during the past year have been: C. W. Locke '01, P. L. Fish '01, M. J. Tobey '01, M. W. Randall '01, and S. Baird '03; the instrumental soloists have been L. P. Burnham '02, 'cello; R. W. Dibble '01, trumpet; and, L. R. Steers '03, cornet.
