Freshmen Win Lacrosse Game.

The Freshman lacrosse team defeated the Sophomores yesterday in the first of the games for the class lacrosse championship, by the score of 4 to 1. In spite of the unfavorable weather the playing on both sides was fast. The Freshmen, however, were better at every point of the game, especially in offensive work and team play. The Sophomores had a weak defense and did not play with the snap that marked the work of the Freshmen. Bennett, Lincoln and Fisher for the Freshmen, and Binger and Penhallow for the Sophomores made brilliant individual plays.

The winning team lined up as follows: Brown, i.h.; Hoguet, o.h.; Bennett, 1st a.; Blagden, 2d a.; Dewing, 3d a.; Fisher, c.; Lincoln, 3d d.; French, 2d d.; Hersey, 1st d.; Damon, c.p.; Tufts, p.; Leake, g.

The goals were made by Brown, Hoguet, Bennett, Fisher and Binger.

The second of the class games, between the Juniors and the Seniors, will be played on Soldiers Field this afternoon at four.
