The Freshman basketball team was defeated by Melrose High School last night at Melrose in a poorly played game. The score was 42 to 21.

The annual dinner of the New York Harvard Club will be held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel tonight. President Eliot and Major Higginson will speak. After the dinner President Eliot will leave for Baltimore, to be present at the twenty-fifth anniversary of Johns Hopkins University.
