Cricket Work.

The prospects for a strong cricket team this year are very encouraging. Thirty-two men have been retained, most of whom have had experience. The plan is being tried this year of having, in addition to the University team, a second team which will have a short schedule of games.

As yet, all the work has been done in the cage, consisting entirely of batting and bowling on the cocoa mat. As soon as the weather permits, work will begin outside in preparation for the game at Lowell on April 27.

As yet no work has been done on the ground alloted for a cricket field on the western portion of Soldiers Field. However, work will begin as soon as the frost is out of the ground, and if good enough, the crease will be used for the intercollegiate game on May 18 and May 25.

During the last week, there has been distinct improvement in the general work of the candidates. Ting, Moore and Drinkwater are promising bowling candidates and there are several strong men for wicket keep.

W. C. Clark '03 has been appointed assistant manager of the team.
