Basketball Team Defeated.

The University basketball team was defeated by Williams at Williamstown Saturday by the score of 15 to 13. Harvard's playing in the first half was so lacking in vigor and accuracy that only one basket was thrown, while the Williams team played an admirable game both at passing and guarding. The playing in the latter part of the game was rather rough and there were several fouls that went unnoticed.

Harvard's playing improved in the second half, but it was too late to change the outcome of the game. Clark and Gilles played the best individual game for Harvard and Vose for Williams.

The summary is as follows: Harvard.  Williams. Clark, l.f.  r.g., Dunn. Gilles, r.f.  l.g., McMillan. Fenwick, c.  c., Hosmer. Smith, l.g.  r.f., Vose. Lehmann, r.g.  l.f., Woods.

Goals from floor--Clark 3, Gilles 3, Vose 2, McMillan 2, Hosmer 1. Goals from fouls--Gilles 1, Vose 5. Umpires--Mossman of Williams; Jennings of Harvard. Time--20 minute halves.
