The cinder track on Soldiers Field was carefully raked and rolled on Wednesday and Thursday, and unless the cold weather continues, will be ready for use Monday. During this week all the track team candidates reporting for work have been sent out on the road in squads, each man being directed to run a distance suited to the event for which he is trying. On Monday it is planned to begin regular practice on the track. The entire squad will then be called out and hard, earnest work will commence.
