CONCERT A GREAT SUCCESS.

The combined concert of the Harvard and Yale musical clubs last night proved a great success in every way. Symphony Hall was crowded with an audience that took advantage of every chance for applause. The men on the clubs gave their selections with fine spirit and the rule of "no encores" was broken early in the programme. After that every number was encored most enthusiastically. The Harvard clubs showed up very well in comparison with those of Yale. The Mandolin Club did especially well and it was their excellent rendering of Delibes's "Pas des Fleurs" which called forth the first encore. The Glee and Banjo Clubs also gave some fine selections but they did not seem to have as much volume as the Yale Clubs. The Yale Glee Club had two very good soloists whose work relieved any possible monotony in the programme. The most impressive thing of the evening was the singing of "Bright College Years" and "Fair Harvard" by the combined Glee Clubs, during which every person in the audience stood.
