The University hockey team was defeated by the Law School team yesterday afternoon on Soldiers Field by a score of 6 to 5. In the first part of the game both teams seemed to rely too much on individual playing, and the goals made were due for the most part to poor defense rather than skilful attack. The score at the end of the first half stood 4 to 3 in favor of the University team. During the second half the defense of the Law School, especially at goal and coverpoint, greatly improved and the University team was able to shoot only one goal during the entire play.
The individual playing of Stoddard and Ferry of the Law School team, and of Winsor, Goodridge and Hardy of the University team was especially good. The teams played in the following order:
